Cape Cod Military Support Foundation Inc. (CCMSFI) is looking for volunteers to staff the empowerment center on Joint Base Cape Cod. Volunteers are needed to staff Dorathy's Baby Pantry, the Food Pantry and other special functions. Shifts are available from 10 AM until 4.30 PM, Monday through Friday and Drill Weekends /Special Functions.

Shifts are flexible in number of hours and days. We can accommodate your schedule. Please join us and experience our military men and women and their families.

BHS Thanksgiving Break Events & Information - PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGES Thanksgiving

We would like to alert you to some date changes with respect to our Thanksgiving related activities.

The Thanksgiving Day Game has been rescheduled due to weather by the host school, Wareham High School, to Wednesday at 6 PM. Tickets are $5.

As a result, the Thanksgiving Pregame Bon Fire (located near Jackson Field, behind BMS) has been rescheduled to take place TONIGHT at 7 PM.

Please note that the Second Annual John C. Keefe Memorial 5K Road Race will take place, as scheduled, on Saturday, November 24 at 8:30 AM.  For more information, PLEASE CLICK HERE!

The Bourne PTA is hosting an online shop for Bourne Spiritwear. This campaign will be running through November 15th.  All orders will be shipped to the school and you will be contacted for pick up. 

The BHS Drama Club Presents Once on This Island - November 9-11 Once on This Island

The BHS Drama Club will be presenting Once on This Island November 9, 10 and 11. Based on the Rosa Guy novel, My Love, My Love, which was inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s, The Little Mermaid, the tale is basically a romance between two people from different worlds. Once on This Island, with its Caribbean setting sensitively explores the themes of love, anger, prejudice, and forgiveness. Parents, students, and community members are invited to attend the BHS History Club's Salute to Veterans on November 9.

The assembly will be held at 1:00 PM in the school's gymnasium - guests are asked to sign in at the main office upon arrival.

National School Lunch Program Public Release

The Bourne Public Schools today announced its policy for children unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program or milk for split-session students served under the Special Milk Program. Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.

In conjunction with the Bourne Spike Club, the Bourne Volleyball program raised over $900.00 for the Happy Hope Factory - an organization that provides positive activities for sick children that are in prolonged hospital care!  The event occurred on Monday, October 15th at a match against Wareham!

BHS Hosts Student Showcase for Middle School Students & Parents November 15 ***date change*** Student Showcase

Bourne High School will be hosting a Student Showcase (open house) event for middle school students and parents on Thursday, November 15 at 5:30 PM. We are excited to share all of the great things Bourne High School has to offer!  The event will kick off with a program of studies informational session in our auditorium, followed by a visit to the cafeteria where we will have informational tables set up to highlight the school’s clubs, activities, programs, and course offerings. The Enterprise is once again publishing a special keepsake pull out edition for our four graduating high school classes. This gives parents and businesses alike the opportunity to say congratulations in a forever kind of way. This year, we are offering parents an opportunity to publish a photo of their graduate and one sentence of well wishes for just $35. Publication date is June 8 and will be flush with gradation photographs.

The Beam Signing event scheduled for tonight at 5:30pm has been rescheduled to next week. The new date and time is Tuesday, May 1st from 5:30 - 7:00pm.

Come and sign the last beam for the new Peebles Elementary School. The beam will raised the next morning at 9:30am during the Topping Off Ceremony.

Attached are the names and numbers for the Full Day Kindergarten lottery.  The lottery will be held this Wednesday, April 11 at the BMS Media Center at 5:00pm.  You do not need to be present at that time nor do you need the number that is assigned.  The results of the lottery will be posted on the website at the end of the day on Friday, April 13. 2019 European Trip Information Session 2.27.18 at 6PM

BHS teachers are planing a European Trip in 2019.   The trip will be a 10 day extravaganza to Munich, Germany/Vienna, Austria/ Budapest Hungary/ Prague Czech-Republic.  The trip will focus on the history of WWII with a visit to the Dachau concentration camp and history museum in Budapest.  It would take place during 2019 April vacation.  More information is available at the Explorica website which is the sponsoring organisation.  There will be a parent/student interest meeting on Tuesday, February 27 at BHS in room 20B at 6:00 p.m. with Mrs. Angell and Mrs. Perkoski.

BHS Hosts Screening of the Documentary Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age - February 1 at 6PM Screenagers

Thanks to the generosity of the Grace Swift Nye Grant, on January 30th parents and community members are invited to attend a screening of the documentary Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. The film presents the challenges of excessive screen time for youth and what we collectively--as individuals, families, schools and society in general--can do to help our kids use their devices in a more healthy manner.

Southeast Music Festival Rescheduled to Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7 music

Due to the storm the Southeast Music Festival at High School will take place on Saturday, January 6, 9 AM -5 PM and Sunday, January 7, 9AM- through concerts. Concert times are the same: 1:00 PM Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Chorus. 3:30 includes the Band and Orchestra.

As a whole-school requirement, all students at all levels are required to read Daniel James Brown’s The Boys in the Boat as Bourne High School embarks on the fourth year of the One Book, One School program. Follow-up book discussions with student and community participants and/or individual teacher assessments will take place at the beginning of the school year.

BPS is Collaborating with Boston University, The ARC of MA & Commonwealth's Department of Developmental Services to develop Making Friends in School: A Toolkit for Teachers, Paraprofessionals, and Parents.  This toolkit will be a resource for both schools and families in providing strategies that promote the development of friendships among all students.

All students will report directly to homeroom on Tuesday, August 28.  There, you will get your schedule, as well as important paperwork that needs to be signed by a caretaker and returned to the main office as soon as possible. Please see the news story to get all the details!

Students taking AP coursework in English, math, and science are offered free study sessions and mock exam experiences through our partnership with Mass Insight Eduacation.  We ask that you please mark these important dates on your calendar and encourage your students to attend these worthwhile opportunities!
