Peebles and Bournedale Elementary Schools are happy to announce the YMCA will be again providing extended hours before and after school for child care as well as curriculum related programs for our students and families. Summer Math Calendars & Reading Bingo Posted! Summer written in sand

Summer is here but we don't want students to lose any of the growth they made over the past year!  This year, each incoming first through fourth grader will have the opportunity to complete a Summer Math Calendar and K -4th grade can complete a Summer Reading Bingo chart!  These activities are designed so that students can practice skills learned during the year and are recommended, but not required. 

A Helpful Guide for the Summer Summer Toys

Many parents have requested a guide for Summer "rules" to help out with limiting screen time and to promote imaginative and outdoor play.  Please feel free to print the attached guide for home use if you'd like!  Happy Summer!

Elementary Open House for New Families - Welcome to Bourne! Welcome

Bournedale and Peebles Elementary Schools will be hosting an Open House to welcome all new families to Bourne. Please join us on Thursday, August24th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Come and tour the school and visit your child’s new classroom. While teachers are not required to attend many still do. We hope to see you there!

Free AP Study Sessions Offered in 2017-2018 Letters of AP

Bourne High School is pleased to partner with Mass Insight’s Mass Math + Science Initiative (MMSI), the largest math and science program in the state. This grant is designed to increase student participation and performance in AP Math, Science and English. The MMSI program relies on multiple resources and support systems to help schools reach their performance goals each year, including world-class teacher training and professional development (AP Summer Institute and 2-Day training sessions), Saturday student study sessions, and content support from experienced math, science, and English directors.

BPS is Collaborating with Boston University, The ARC of MA & Commonwealth's Department of Developmental Services to develop Making Friends in School: A Toolkit for Teachers, Paraprofessionals, and Parents.  This toolkit will be a resource for both schools and families in providing strategies that promote the development of friendships among all students.

Bus stops for the 2017-2018 school year are determined by the completed applications received. To ensure that your student has appropriate transportation for the fall, please complete the required bus application by June 30.  Applications must be submitted annually.  If you have any questions, please contact Sue Downing sdowning@bourneps.org or Jean White jwhite@bourneps.org. Bourne High School Summer Reading List Posted! Summer Reading

As a whole-school requirement, all students at all levels are required to read Daniel James Brown’s The Boys in the Boat as Bourne High School embarks on the fourth year of the One Book, One School program. Follow-up book discussions with student and community participants and/or individual teacher assessments will take place at the beginning of the school year.
