Spelling Bee

Bourne High School Drama Club presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescent characters played by Olivia Amaral, Anthony DeMayo, David Burg, Adelina Sederman, Mya Cohen and Joseph Metcalf, are trying to win the spelling championship of a lifetime. Throughout the show, the spellers candidly disclose hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, and spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box, provided by Comfort Counselor, Mitch Mahoney, played by Dakota Lopes. Come see this fast-paced crowd pleaser of a show next weekend, November 10-12. Friday, November 10th at 7:00 PM,Saturday November 11th at 7:00 PM and Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 PM.
