SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the town of Bourne Special Education Parent Advisory Council is to facilitate understanding, respect and support for all children with special education needs in our community. The goal of the council is to promote a network for parents of children with special education needs and provide opportunities to share information with parents, educators, students and professionals.

Parents are welcomed as important members of the special education team process. Information pertaining to the Special Education Process and all related student and parent rights are outlined in the Notice of Procedural Safeguards brochure available in Central Office and at all schools or on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website.

PRESCHOOL SCREENING IN BOURNE
The Bourne Public Schools will conduct screenings of 3 and 4 year old children living in Bourne. The screening is designed to review a child’s development and to assist in identifying those children who should be referred for an evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services.
Preschool screenings have been scheduled for the following dates:
October 21, 2016
January 20, 2017
May 19, 2017
Screenings are by appointment only.
