Assessment

As partners in your student’s learning, Bourne Public Schools wants to inform you of our benchmark assessment plan for the current school year. Bourne Public Schools is dedicated to administering benchmark assessments three times during the school year:  October, January and May.  Benchmark assessments provide a snapshot in time of your child’s academic growth and development. Students will take their mid-year benchmark assessments in January, with scoring and data analysis occurring during the January 27, 2021 early release day. In addition to the assessments listed above, students will also complete a questionnaire called SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener). SAEBRS is a universal screening tool to help educators recommend the types of supports that may be appropriate to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Schools will be sending out a more detailed schedule for the January Benchmark assessments, which may include the completion of some assessments asynchronously and/or remotely.

Our goal is to have your child be successful in school and on the Benchmark Tests. If you have questions regarding your child’s achievement please contact your child’s teacher.
