Dear BPS Families,

The start of 2022 is proving to be challenging for educators and students regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We remain grateful to all of our faculty and staff who continue to provide high quality instruction amidst increasing staff and student absences. We are also very appreciative of your continued diligence in assessing the health of your children and in partnering with us to help the students to stay on track. The BPS community remains strong because of the school-home partnership that we have forged.

New COVID testing program starts February 7th

To participate, you must opt in by completing the online form that can be found at the following link . By opting in, you will agree to review the training materials for test administration, report positive test results to your student’s school, and administer the tests according to BPS guidelines. 

Bournedale Elementary School Taking Part in Global ‘Great Kindness Challenge’ Week Kindness week

Bournedale Elementary School is participating in the Great Kindness Challenge again this year,  joining over 18 million students in over 35,000 schools across 115 countries.  Students and teachers are working together throughout the week of Jan. 24-28 to spread kindness by  performing kind acts at home, in school and in the community.

BOURNE -- Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou is pleased to announce that
Bourne Public Schools staff engaged in a full professional development day that
featured well-known speakers Dr. Kalise Wornum of KW Diversity, Inc. and Minh
Nguyen of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Safe Schools

The professional development day, which took place Tuesday, Jan. 18, was designed
by Assistant Superintendent Barbara Starkie and the BPS Administrative team. This
long-awaited presentation, which was planned over the summer, was attended by over
220 faculty and staff.

Topics for the day focused on diversity, equity and inclusion aligned with the BPS core
values, “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.” The professional development was
an opportunity to listen, to learn, and to embrace concepts and practices that will
strengthen BPS’s strategy to “Build community, Promote equity, and Strive for

Bourne High School Juniors Learn Fiscal Responsibility at Annual Credit For Life Fair Credit for Life 2021

Annual Event Ties Into School’s Career Readiness and Personal Finance Curriculum

On Friday, Dec. 10, approximately 80 students took part in the Credit for Life fair in the Bourne High School cafeteria. The event is held annually for the entire 11th grade BHS class. The fair seeks to give students a “reality check” on how much money they would realistically be working with if they continue on their chosen career path.
